The Arkansas Department of Education, in order to ensure that all students make educational progress in the least restrictive environment, provides regionally based behavior consultants.

The behavior consultants assist schools in their efforts to:

• Identify and program for students with autism spectrum disorders

• Conduct functional assessment and develop appropriate intervention plans for students at-risk for a more restrictive placement.

• Develop early intervention and mental health initiatives.
